World Day Observance in Belize

In Belize, UNICEF Belize partnered with the National Committee for Families and Children and other religious leaders to advocate for the end of violence against children. On November 20 representatives from UNICEF and NCFC appeared on a leading television morning talk show to talk about Children’s Rights, highlighting the importance of the Day of Prayer and Action Initiative. During the month of November, religious leaders representing major denominations in Belize wrote public letters and press releases which denounced violence against children and highlighted the organizations’ stance and initiatives for promoting the child’s right to a safe and protective environment, which is free from violence.
