The Executive Office of the United Nations Secretary-General is pleased to announce the addition of two new members, Mr. Kul Gautam and Ms. Brenda Killen, to the Every Woman Every Child Independent Accountability Panel (IAP).
Dr Carmen Barroso and Mr. Kul Gautam have been appointed Co-Chairs to steer the Panel’s future work. Ms Brenda Killen will be joining as an additional panel member.
The IAP is tasked to produce an annual comprehensive synthesis report on the state of the health of women, children and adolescents, to guide implementation of the Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health and the relevant SDGs. Their first report will be released on the 18th September.
Mr Kul Gautam, who is a former Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Deputy Executive Director of UNICEF, currently serves as Chairman of the Board of RESULTS. Ms. Brenda Killen, an economist who serves as Deputy Director of the OECD’s Development Co-operation Directorate, has previous experience at WHO and UK DfID and extensive field experience in Africa.
