Muchachos y Muchachas con Don Bosco

El Día de Oración y Acción se celebrará en 5 barrios de S. Domingo y en 4 ciudades del interior del país: Barahona (en el Sur) y en Jarabacoa, La Vega y Mao (en la región del Cibao).

Muchachos y Muchachas con Don Bosco (MMDB) es una Red de organizaciones educativas, promocionales y pastorales de formación y desarrollo integral que la familias Salesiana lleva adelanta en República Dominicana en beneficio de niños, niñas y adolescentes trabajadores, en situación de calle y huérfanos, que viven realidades de riesgo, sin protección social y/o familiar. La Red trabaja para asegurar y promover la protección y promoción de los derechos humanos de los NNA, a través de la identificación y denuncia de las violaciones de derechos, el acompañamiento legal a NNA y a sus familias, y sobretodo a trabvés de la educación en y para los derechos humanos, educación necesaria para desarrollar una cultura preventiva de derechos humanos. En los Centros Locales de la Red, desde hace unos años, se han instituido unos “Parlamentos Infantiles-Juveniles”, como espacios participativos orientados al ejercicio del derecho a la participación.

Los NNA del Parlamento Juvenil-Infantil participarán junto a los demás en la celebración del Día Mundial de Oración y Acción por los Niños.

Short Description:

The local MMDB network centers will celebrate the Day of Prayer and Action in various locations throughout the country with the participation of boys, girls, and teens.

Long Description:

The Day of Prayer and Action will be celebrated in five neighborhoods in Santo Domingo, and in four other Dominican cities: Barahona (in the south) and in Jarabacoa, La Vega, and Mao (in the Cibao region).

MMDB is a network of educational, promotional, and pastoral organizations providing training and comprehensive development work carried out by the Salesian families in the Dominican Republic to benefit boys, girls, and teens who are working, living in the streets, or orphaned, at risk, and without social and/or family protection. The network works to ensure and promote the protection and promotion of the human rights of the boys, girls, and teens through the identification and reporting of violations of rights, legal support for the boys, girls, and teens and their families, and above all, through education in and for human rights. This education is necessary to develop a preventive culture of human rights. Over the last several years, the local network centers have established “Child-Youth Parliaments” as participatory spaces aimed at the exercise of the right to participation.

The boys, girls, and teens in the Child-Youth Parliament will participate along with the others in the celebration of the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children.
