Interfaith Satsang Program in Shanti Sewa Ashram

Gathered in the Peace Service Center, DPAC Chairperson Mrs. Ambika kc spoke on how all faith-based and secular leaders should be working at the local, national, and international level to protect children. She touched on the prominent issues of child marriage, the dowry system, and Chaupadi Pratha (menstruation taboos). She also highlighted the importance of children’s education and urged everyone present to support the Girls Scholarship Program aiming to stop child marriages in Nepal.
Dr. Chintamani Yogi, the founder of the Center, also highlighted the importance of education and called upon the government to properly enforce that all children receive a good education.
Kriti Shree Giri, the program officer of the Peace Service Center, spoke of the importance of DPAC for young girls. She also talked about their goal of decreasing the rate of child marriages of Nepal through scholarships for girls for higher education.
