Search of Justice

CAN Pakistan shall launch an advocacy campaign of 16 days of activism against gender-based violence, exclusively appealing to religious entities to bring attitudinal and behavioral change that will end child marriage. This will be done through stakeholder’s engagement, awareness and mobilization, carrying out advocacy activities with religious and traditional community leaders such as sensitization sessions, dialogues and meetings. Search of Justice aims to reduce resistance and increase support for civil society advocacy efforts to reform the law and increase the minimum marriage age from 16 to 18 in Punjab Province. The Search of Justice Campaign will be launched on 19th November 2014 (International Day for Prevention of Child Abuse) in the presence on almost 130 children, religious scholars, media representatives, Parliamentarians (Legislatures), representatives of academia, representatives of government departments and representatives from civil society organizations. The campaign will also demand to protect the children from all forms of abuse and exploitation.
