World Day 2012 Observance: West Midnapore, India

The Ramakrishna Mission and its partners will commemorate the Global Week for Holistic Welfare of Children in 19 districts of West Bengal. It is scheduled to begin on 14 November (Children’s Day in India) and ending on 20 November (the World Day of Prayer and Action for Children/Universal Children’s Day). The activities are being observed in both cities and at the village level which includes child development rallies; seminars on children’s rights,  prevention of early marriage, trafficking of children, and national integration for children. Cultural and sports events for children will be featured. Special sessions on child health are scheduled which includes health check-ups for children and seminars on personal health and hygiene.  Over 25,000 children will be participating in the program including 150 youth clubs and 600 schools. Ramakrishna Mission and its partners will collaborate with government agencies responsible for child welfare; education; health; culture and law enforcement.
