World Day activities in Senegal

Activity Recap

In Senegal, as part of an ongoing national advocacy and communication campaign by the Ministry of Family and Children against child maltreatment, with support of UNICEF, a forum with high-level imams and representatives from religious networks discussed child protection issues and the position of the Qur’an on certain practices. In addition, imams, teachers, community-based organizations and NGOs participated in community dialogues on the same theme in a rural district from which many children are sent to beg by their Qur’anic teachers.
