World Day of Prayer and Action in Matanzas
In 2009, Rev. Dr. Ofelia Ortega started Day of Prayer and Action’s yearly event at the Evangelical Theology Seminary of Matanzas. Since then, the event has been held with students and families of various denominations of the Seminary.
Activity Recap
In Matanzas, DPAC was celebrated in the Community Centre Abahalm Lincoln with children coming from poor and marginalized sectors, in a Foster Home for orphans, and in three very marginalized neighbourhoods (La Marina, Los Mangos and Simpson), reaching up to 154 children and 73 adults.
All the events were characterized by the use of arts and drama to raise awareness on child protection related issues, by a spiritual interfaith moment of prayer and by the donation of school material for poor children.
