Panama

On 20 November, some 500 children ages 12 to 17 will join religious leaders representing the faiths and denominations of Panama in a celebration of prayer and dedication sponsored by the Institute for the Development of Women and Children (IDEMI). IDEMI has been working for the past eight years to remind Panamanians of their country’s commitment to guarantee a society in which childhood is a right, and local and national authorities have agreed to fulfill their obligations regarding children’s rights. During the World Day observance, the youth will recommit themselves before God to care for their lives. The celebration will be followed by a forum for child and adolescent representatives from around the country.
